About the Speaker

Dr. James Allison is the Chair of the Department of Immunology, the Vivian L. Smith Distinguished Chair in Immunology, Director of the Parker Institute for Cancer Research, and the Executive Director of the Immunotherapy Platform at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

He has spent a distinguished career studying the regulation of T cell responses and developing strategies for cancer immunotherapy. He earned the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, which he shared with Dr. Tasuku Honjo, “for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune resgulation.” read more

Box Office Hours: The Creative Arts Center box office is open on weekdays from 10am – 5pm. Box office opens 90 minutes prior to showtime.

Will Call: Will Call is located at the Creative Arts Center box office in the main lobby. Will Call may be picked up during regular business hours of M-F 10am – 5pm and 90 minutes prior to showtime. Customers must present a photo ID to claim tickets.

Parking: Limited free parking is available in front of the Creative Arts Center (Lot 45) after 5pm M-F and on weekends. On non-game days, free parking is also available at the WVU Coliseum across the street from the Creative Art Center. Additional lots adjacent to the CAC are pay-to-park or restricted to permit holders. Please read posted signs regarding parking restrictions. Accessible Seating: Accessible seating is available for all events. Hearing Assist devices are also available to the hearing impaired. Please visit or call the venue box office at 304-293-7469 with your accessible needs.

General Rules: Doors typically open 30 minutes prior to show time. Tobacco free facility. Prohibited: Outside food/drink, backpacks and large bags, audio/video recorders, coolers or hard containers, laser pointers, weapons, bottles/cans & pets (with the exception of ADA service animals). All patrons are subject to search.
